Walk into my kitchen on any given night and I’ve got all of the windows open airing out the house as I cook. The vent on my range doesn’t work the way that it should (or maybe I just love garlic too much) and I end up with smoke, smells, grease, and more. When I discovered AirHood, I stopped having to sweat those 95 degree Florida days with the windows open, because I found something to reduce all of that.
For a more affordable, low-maintenance option, check out the new AirHood. Marketed as “the world’s first portable range hood,” it exists somewhere between a ductless table-top exhaust system and an air purifier. Though it doesn't have true HEPA- or VOC-specific filters, it does have a stainless-steel mesh oil filter and a purifying internal charcoal filter similar to what you’d find in a ductless oven hood.

I was super impressed with how the vent functioned and found out, after the fact, that the filters are literally made with charcoal. Hence, no smells. Also, you would think that after two hours vibration would have forced me to reset the AirHood on the toilet lid at least once, right? wrong! I never had to move it for it has a detachable base that is weighted and it holds firmly to wherever you place it.
